I can confirm that Kword 2.3.3-0ubuntu6 now works without cursor
problem. This happen after I upgraded to Oneric tho, not sure if it's
available for Natty?

This bug as i know not present in new koffice - calligra 2.3.7... and
more. And has a patch for this bug. But in *buntu present in ppa only
koffice 2.3.3 (instead of project neon), and this bug is still present
in oneric because - koffice 2.3.3.

Correct, this bug has nothing to do with the operating system in use.
It's not a KDE bug either. The bug is in Kword it self. I also noticed
that this does not apply when opening a previous document from
OpenOffice or LibreOffice, this is the only time the cursor actually
work. But if I select all
