And, I also have two output devices - 1 monitor and 1 projector. But,
for me, option "Same image in all monitors" was already checked, and
changing it doesn't seem to change anything.

I have the same problem. This happens when booting from live CD, and
also on the installed (and updated) 11.04.

I just noticed something which might help reproduce and/or narrow down
this bug: I have two monitors connected to my graphics card, but, since
I usually only use one of them, I didn't change the default setting of
"Same image in all monitors" (in the Monitor preferences). Now that I
have unchecked
FWIW, I get the same issue with both the installed ubuntu and the beta
live cd.
