Binary package hint: network-manager

Hi
There are no notifications in the network icon on panel or on the black 
rectangular window which usually notifies of something important.
I have my adsl router without the link light (it dies occasionally) but the 
network icon still shows connected signal.

Windows 7 catches it in seconds every time.I can say this because i have
a very bad quality line which keeps going off .
