Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I was trying to set up my network connection through a Huawei E153 modem yesterday (I'm using COMCEL in Colombia as the Carrier/ISP, by the way). My first attempts to connect failed miserably with a hard crash while establishing the connection. It was not a panic but I coudn't do anything, no alt-ctrl-del, nor alt-sysrq key combinations, and no (briefly) pressing the power button worked. I had to press the power button for a few seconds so the netbook would turn off. After I set up the APN manually, the connection started It's a Samsung NP-N150 netbook. Kubuntu Maverick (fully updated... with the KDE 4.6.2 update... just in case).
