Can you do the following tests:
Try to print (convert to PostScript) the image from other programs
(GIMP, f-spot, gqview, ...) or directly to CUPS (lpr -o scaling=100
file.png). Does the same problem occur?
Install GPL GhostScript (sudo apt-get install gs-gpl, perhaps you will
need to activate
gs-gpl -sDEVICE=x11 file.ps
gs-esp -sDEVICE=x11 file.ps
both commands on both files give me black images
i tried f-spot and gthumb, both provide black images (although the print
preview looks good)
printing from firefox works (assuming firefox is using another printing
system)
printing
