I have just compile prc-tools-2.3 on my PC running Ubuntu 7.10 for amd64.
In a terminal window, just type :
linux32 bash
You are then in a 32 bit environment in which prc-tools-2.3 can be
compiled.
I had an error because of a forward struct definition, but any C
programmer can fix it eas
actually, I don't think this bug will be fixed, since it is not a bug,
because prc-tools was not ment to work with x86_64 machines (since they
didn't even exist).
It would be great if someone could "port" (or maybe rewrite??--) the
prc-tools patches to work with the actual 64bit gcc. but until th
What should we do, that wants to use prc-tools on our amd64:s?

Issue has to do with fact that prc-tools are based off gcc-2.95 which
apparently does not understand x86_64. See the following page for a good
discussion of the issue as well as a solution to get 32bit version of
packages working using chroot.
