As of Hardy the main Scribus package in the 1.3.3.x version. This bug
has been out here far too long...

Duncan: Yeah, the problem is that people search for scribus see a
supported and an unsupported version, and this last one is also
called a development version in its description (which sounds like it
might not be very stable), so they install the supported version, which
then doesn't have all the
Scribus-ng in Feisty is 1.3.3.8.dfsg-1ubuntu1 (scribus-ng). Sorry Jan, it must
have been that package I looked at. Sure enough the stable package in Feisty is
still 1.2.5. Too late to change that now.
Basically if you want the latest Scribus package available in Feisty, install
the scribus-ng
re-opening because this issue isn't fixed at all

Duncan, you're wrong: the 'scribus' package in Main is still at version
'1.2.5.dfsg-5ubuntu3' in Feisty, and this version isn't really supported
anymore by upstream.
There is also a package 'scribus-ng' in Universe, which is at version
'1.3.3.8.dfsg-1ubuntu1', and this is the last Scribus stable
I am the Debian maintainer of Scribus and related packages. I've
uploaded a 1.3.3.8+1.3.3.9cvs scsribus package into Debian/Unstable
few days ago, so Ubuntu people can pull the Debian package now to get
1.3.3.x scribus. For your infomration I'm going to switch scribus-ng
in Debian to the
Scribus in Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) is currently version 1.3.3.6.
