Same problem, with gnome panel and Ubuntu 12.04. Uff Cryptkeeper was

Same problem here, with gnome. Have been using PinguyOS and Cryptkeeper
for a long time, but this morning when I click on Cryptkeeper, the
"keys" icon on the top panel does not show up. So now I have no way to
get to my encrypted folder. Hopefully someone a LOT smarter than I (a
relative noob) can
In KDE on Oneiric, I get an empty space in the app tray (or whatever KDE
calls it). Everything else works.

Well , its still an annoying bug. I think Cryptkeeper would be
whitelisted on install. Is it possible to do for all users with dpkg?
A user would not have to google the solution at webup8 to solve this
issue.

Sorry I made a typo mistake:
- it's not "gconf-editor" but rather "dconf-editor" which can be installed with
the package dconf-tools.
(sudo apt-get install dconf-tools)

I did some research and it appears that this is not a bug.
There is a setting in Unity that can be modified using gconf-editor or this
command in a terminal:
gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']"
...then all apps that send an indicator to the tray works fine.

accessible via Unity panel).
