Jonah, a fix hasn't been released yet. Until then, you can configure settings
manually in /etc/network/interfaces. For the wired connection, this should be
enough in most cases:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

i have the same problem! it's a major stress cos i can't get on the net
with my netgear pcmcia
- plus when i plug a regular LAN connection in also that won't work
despite being able to set it's properties...
becuase i use wireless in two places i tried to change the location at
the top of the net
Ok, I though it was the same bug, so as I hadn't got it with the latest
image (January 11), I closed the report.
But sorry for my mistake.

The package has not changed and the code still has that bug, it's
triggered when there is essid listed, which might not be your case with
your ipw2200 driver

One more note, while my machine is running if I plug in my PCMCIA wireless
orinoco card I can pull up properties within Network-admin, but if the card is
inserted when the machine boots - same Seg fault when I choose properties.

when I choose 'Wireless connection' then properties.

Here's an interesting note:
I plugged in a pcmcia wireless card, orinico - segfault doesn't happen on it.
Only occurs when I choose properties for my built in bcm4318 eth1 using the
bcm43xx driver.
