Thinks the same bug affects me too, but only when I connect an external
monitor to my laptop and run them with a big desktop.
Some additional info:
* Icons on the desktop do also disappear.
* "unity --reset" keeps repeating "Compiz (opengl) - Info: Couldn't bind
redirect window 0x1400024 to tex
