I found the source of the zombie for me. It no longer happens now that I
have disabled the bindwood extension for firefox. (The gui issues noted
above are apparently unrelated to couchdb crashes, since that still
happens).

I have this problem, too. Essentially I have two instances of couchdb running.
One is a zombie called 'desktop-couch-se' that is zombie in 'do_exit()', the
other is called 'desktop-couch-service' in do_wait() that is fine' couchdb
itself has two instances as well, one is in 'do_wait()' the other
Is there any news about this issue? It seems to happen with all three
pc's I upgraded to ubuntu Nanty. Is there anything more I can provide,
I see the bug is still set as incomplete...
