Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
When I used Maverick, graphics were mostly stable but there was a glitch with screen refreshes... sometimes I had to switch to another desktop and come back so that the screen would be rendered correctly. I supposed that natty would have improved over these problems so I updated today (through apt-get dist-upgrade). Unfortunately the graphics with desktop effects are in a word "terrible". I had to disable desktop effects in order to have a usable desktop. What I'm worried about now is that natty is almost out. If you are hacking heavily on the driver, maybe the problem will disappear with the coming updates, otherwise..... don't want to think of it. I'm on a samsung N150 Plus netbook. 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation N10 Family DMI Bridge Subsystem: Samsung Electronics Co Ltd Device c072 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 I'll try to see if I can make it boot with uuid stuff and let you know what happens after I start the right kernel.... will let you think about it in the meanwhile.
