Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

Occasionally after pressing Super to display the screen that contains
the search bar and list of shortcuts, nothing I type enters the search
bar. During this time, the icons in the list of shortcuts are responsive
to hovering with the mouse pointer. When I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Space (a
customized shortcut) to open GNOME Terminal, the terminal opened beneath
Unity's transparent screen and I was able to type in the terminal while
Unity's search bar and shortcuts remained visible.
