The Qt test fails, because the Macro called (BNV_HAVE_QT) in configure has
linking issues. Looking closer it shows configure lines like:
bnv_try_4=$CXX $QT_LIBS $LIBS -o bnv_qt_main bnv_qt_main.o moc_bnv_qt_test.o
/dev/null 2bnv_qt_test_4.out
Where it shoud have been:
bnv_try_4=$CXX -o

ihu version 0.6.0-2ubuntu2 failed to build on amd64 with
Hello Colin,
I started from the newer debian version and fixed the problem by
changing the order of the Qt test in acinclude.m4.
I'm not too sure whether this is the right way (since Ubuntu is in FF
right now) but I changed the code (with the patch system) and
initialized the package with bzr so

Ok, I changed it (since 39000 line of a diff seemed a little bit hard) and
downloaded the 0.6.0-2 package from ubuntu and copied the changed files from
the debian 0.6.0-3 branch. After that I did the change and uploaded the branch.
I hope this is a little bit more straightforward.

There is a slightly newer version in Debian which includes equivalent
fixes for the outstanding Ubuntu delta, but it still fails, I think due
to --as-needed problems (the failing command is 'g++ -lqt-mt -lSM -lICE
-lX11 -lXext -lXmu -lXt -lXi -o bnv_qt_main bnv_qt_main.o
moc_bnv_qt_test.o').
