can you try the new version currently in:
http://users.tkk.fi/~tjaalton/gtkpod
and build it? 0.99.4 segfaults for me as well (in feisty), but this
doesn't.

I just swapped out gtkpod-aac for the non-aac gtkpod package, which
shows exactly the same behaviour: no iPod - segfault, with iPod - the
same backtrace as with gtkpod-aac.

Same here with edgy, but in addition gtkpod-aac segfaults when started
without the iPod.
