This is a bug, and one I would like to resolve.
Jerry, can you take a digital photo and attach it to this bug report, of
the screen when it stops? Be sure to remove the "quiet" and "splash"
kernel command line options using the editor in grub's menu, so that as
much output is seen as possible.

Curiously, how is this not a bug? Kernel locks up on boot, doesn't
proceed, system is unusable.
Not sure how much more buggy it can get.
