There is no problem here; the hw is functioning as designed. That is the
DVI is connected to the nvidia and not the Intel GPU.

Same problem here. Ubuntu 11.11 on Thinkpad T410 with Nvidia Optimus
Hybrid Technology and Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus Series 3. Only difference
is that I couldn't make it work with the Nvidia Chip either. VGA works
fine.
