I finally got my system to boot following the instructions for post #7

However, before doing that, I tried EVERYTHING: unetbooting, ultraiso,
multiple usb sticks, ubuntu's live cd creator, and the downloadable
version recommended

I'm getting the same problem. MD5Sum is valid, and the usb disk was
created using the windows startup disk creator.
