With linux image 2.6.38-9-generic, card reader works, volumes on cards are
auto-mounted, and the appropriate icon appears on the desktop.

i have the same problem on my lenovo 6470 with the radeon video card.
inserting an SD card in the slot doesn't show any reaction.
