The problem is possibly created when you rename your network connection
using the popup menu of the icon in the top right. In order to fix it I
had to to erase my connection and and reset the firewall. Now it works
fine. If the administrator decides that this thread should be deleted,
it's ok.
Based on the reporter's feedback, marking ufw task as Invalid.

Also when the firewall if I disconnect from the network connection I
cannot connect again without shutting down the firewall. I also tried to
