Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I use 2 Laptops, one has Internet access over Ethernet and I share the connection to the second laptop. Laptop#1: Sony VAIO F13, natty, has Ethernet access Laptop#2: Acer Aspire 4810, natty Steps to reproduce: * On Laptop#1 Connect Ethernet Cable and Create new Wifi AdHoc Network - NetworkManager -> Edit Connections -> Wireless -> Add -> SSID "test" -> Mode "Ad-hoc" -> IPv4 Settings -> "Shared to other computers" -> save. * Notification says. "test -- connection established" What I expected to happen: * On Laptop#2: Wifi "test" appers, connect, and its online. What I happened instead: * On Laptop#2 nothing appears. What happened when Laptop#1 has booted on a Maverick liveCD: * Connection on Laptop#2 works perfectly. I can reproduce this when everything runs on liveCDs to avoid possible settings/installation issues.
