I can confirm that on EeePC 1001p and on Acer Aspire 5110 with Ubuntu
11.04 Natty. I create ad-hoc network on both laptops and nobody can't
see anybody's network. Also networks not visible from smartphone.

It seems to work properly for me, with an Aspire AX1700 desktop for the
host and Dell Vostro V130 for client.
Can you please try to reproduce the issue, and post the file
/var/log/syslog after doing so from Laptop #2 (e.g. the client)?

I can't see anything about IBSS on the client. Can you please try to
select Connect to hidden and select your ad-hoc network there, or
verify that the client's connection profile config is correctly set to
Ad-Hoc rather than Infrastructure?
