I have a pair of question... have you ever manually installed a driver
using ndiswrapper? Or modified the file /etc/rc.local? Has your intel
platform a broadcom wireless driver? If yes, it is bmc43xx? I'm trying
to understand if the problem is related to this thing that I done in
Ubuntu...

Mmmm I readed again your message and I think that our problem is not totally
related...
You saied that you can't ssh(or any else type of connection) when it freeze...
But in my case there are only keyboard and trackpad that freeze, the system
continue working.

Same problem here with 11.04 x32 on an intel platform. Upgraded from
10.04 to 11.04 and the install froze on installing udisks. Unable to
reboot, I downloaded the 11.04 image and tried to repair the
installation from CD. This froze near the end of the install at the
clean up stage. I could still
