I still cannot reproduce this on natty with all the latest updates, and
the tray icon enabled or not.
Could you please start virt-manager with --debug and attach the log here
of when it fails?

If you uncheck "enable system tray icon" then restarting virt-manager.

It doesn't matter what guest is running: Ubuntu (10.04.2 LTS, 10.10, 11.04),
FreeBSD (9-CURRENT), OpenBSD (4.9), openSUSE (11.4), Debian (6.0.1). It doesn't
matter at all.
I've doubble checked now: it is releated to latest updates. Installing from
Ubuntu 11.04 iso-Images makes virt-manager work.
I can't reproduce this at all.
What guest are you running in your VM? Can you reproduce this with a
Ubuntu guest?

Ubuntu 10.10 with virt-manager 0.8.4 as found in ubuntu maverick repositories.
Ubuntu 11.04 with virt-manager 0.8.6 as found in ubuntu natty repositories.

I've reported a very same error for virt-manager 0.8.3 with ubuntu
10.04. Maybe this is a regression and virt-manager has a dependency not
mentioned?
