Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I am using a rather old laptop, Toshiba L10-154, Celeron M with 512 MB
RAM. The hard disk has several partitions. One of them has Linux Mint
xfce 201104, so the laptop is basically "linux-compatible".

I booted from the "official" Lubuntu 11.04 disc and selected German as
the language:

- When I start live mode, I end up with a command line. No errors, but not GUI
either. I got the hint to try startx, that leaves me with some error messages.
- When I choose the direct install, everything looks fine, but the installer
crashes during "Sprachpakete werden installiert" ("language packages are being
installed").

I re-burned the iso, the behaviour stayed the same.

I would attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman if I knew how to do
get them out of the computer from the command line. Unfortunately, I am
not. Can you give me directions how to do it?

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
