Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20
The Sitecom WL-117 is a ZyDAS zd1211-based USB wireless device which currently does not work under ubuntu, a patch to fix this is attached. When this device is first inserted it presents a fake CD drive which contains the windows drivers for the device (USB ID 0x0ace, 0x20ff). This is then claimed by the usb storage driver. While the USB storage driver is waiting for the device to settle, the device times out and reconnects, starting a loop of connect-disconnect. The patch below causes usb-storage to ignore this device, and adds its ID to the zd1211rw driver. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Current kernel does not support Sitecom WL-117 [with patch] https://launchpad.net/bugs/78311 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
