Since there are no Styling Hints for the Software center in the Ubuntu
studio theme, I think, im not 100% sure though.

Hi James. For me, the colors in a list are black on white for an
unselected item, white on orange for a focused selected item, and black
on light grey for an unfocused selected item. So I don't know where
you're seeing light grey on white.
Could you (a) attach a screenshot of the problem, and (b)

For "stock" Ubuntu, I don't really know, never had any font color/theme
issues with it. My problem is with the default *Ubuntu Studio* theme.
