Environment: Hardy 8.04, Kubuntu KDE4.0 Desktop:
Crash of Adept Updater during update. Another problem, but may be related with
the described one:
Running Firefox 3.0 in parallel with Adept, both are loosing internet
connectivity. Find attached the bug report.

I have manually updated my system today using aptitude.
After this update, the dialog A new version of Kubuntu has been found no
longer appears. The effect is that I can no longer reproduce this bug. However,
I am not certain whether

b) the bug is simply
Thank you. Actually, Adept-updater has been working well for me for the
last week or so. I notice they pushed yet another update to all the
Adept utilities yesterday, but I have not yet tried them.

I have experienced similar crash today on Kubuntu Feisty (up-to-date).
I got the crash when I have clicked on linuxprinting.org-ppds package and then
on Details button. See attached stack trace.
Stack trace is similar to other report and I would also like to point
out similar crash (according
I think the severity of this bug needs to be raised because right now
I'm prevented from updating my virtual machine until this is fixed some
how? Any ideas on how to sovle it?

IFbecause I don't know...apt-get works on your VM, you can update
by doing the following two, separate commands sequentially in a
terminal window (konsole)
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
I've been doing this for a couple of weeks, but I'm working a real
install to disk
I get this error w/ either Adept or apt-get.

Same for me. It reports 1 updated package, and when clicking on next it
crashes.
When run from a console, it emit warnings:
$ sudo adept_updater --nofork
kapture::PkgSystem::PkgSystem()
unknown long option --reindex
Usage: debtags [options] update [options]
Description: updates the package tag
When run in gdb, I get:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread -1232955696 (LWP 24402)]
0xb6f8914c in QString::unicode () from /usr/lib/libqt-mt.so.3
(gdb)
(gdb) bt
#0 0xb6f8914c in QString::unicode () from /usr/lib/libqt-mt.so.3
#1 0xb7379d4d in operator== ()
Same here but it doesn't clear the alert, after going back into adept
choosing fetch updates brings up the dialog box selecting next makes it
crash.
