Ubuntu 12.04 x64 here.

My Easyport eth port stops working, if I turn laptop volume on. It seems
that eth port works only when volume is on mute (turned off via keyboard
shortcut or sounds menu).

I fix the VGA problem with the easyport IV by installing the newest
intel-driver by adding
ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
to Synaptic.
