I can reproduce this with:
lp:~mvo/software-center/lp785162
when i use the sudo sh contrib/simulate-slow-network.sh before and then click
really quickly on the focus test button.
This then causes that e.g. totem does no longer has a screenshot.

$ PYTHONPATH=. python softwarecenter/ui/gtk3/widgets/thumbnail.py
