For me problem is solved now (Gwibber 3.4.0) : with an identica account,
if the user exists on identica, when I click on it, a row with its name
is added on the user tab, if I select it I can view the user's timeline.
If the user doesn't exist on identica but on twitter, if I click on it,

I have this bug, too.
It first happened when, on my Identica TimeLine, I tried to click on a
pseudo in someone's dent.
But this person was posting both in Twitter + Identica, the pseudo was a
Twitter one and does not exist on Identica.
So at this time I got the notification "No such user" with i

I am also affected by this bug so I thought it will upload my gwibber.log, here
it is. It is not the complete file, I only put the log of the last day in it.
You should be able to see the error in the log.
I am using the same gwibber version and I am running natty, too.
