I've just discovered I can mount it using Gigalo - which would make
sense as it is the gvfs front end for Xubuntu...

Canon IXUS 95 doesn't mount either. lsusb output:

And I too am running Xubuntu 11.04 64 bit.

I can add to this that Canon IXUS 80 IS does not mount either, but is
found with lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 011: ID 04a9:3184 Canon, Inc. Digital IXUS 80 IS (PTP
mode)
I'm also on Xubuntu 11.04, and I'm 64 bit.
