i confirm this behaviour of making a 1 track un-earable while just copying the
audio CD using the FEISTY distro.
My workaround, curently, is to use command line with cdparanoia and

there has been no comment on the gutsy update yet, we will consider the

May i ask if it will be committed to feisty ? It would be s great to
tell my friends: "Look, to copy your favorite disc, just click on the
icon" instead of "well, it is supposed to be simple, but it does work"
before gutsy release :)

Sorry again, I thought I'm smart an highlight the sore spot with HTML
tags ("-data"), not knowing launchpad doesn't support formatting
yet...
The correct line has to be:
launching command: cdrecord fs=16m dev=/dev/hdc -eject -dao
driveropts=burnfree -v -data -nopad /tmp/image.iso.V1WWVT

Sorry, that it took that long for to answer. The bug persists in Feisty
and here the relevant commands from my xsession-error log:

launching command: cdrdao read-cd --read-raw --datafile /tmp/image.iso.V1WWVT
--device /dev/hdc -v 2 /tmp/image.iso.V1WWVT.toc

Here is xsession-errors attached as you requested. As you can see, the
nautilus-cd-burner writes the audio CD with option "data" when it should
be "audio", hence CD goes wrong..

Can you still reproduce on gutsy? If you can, please install cdrskin (sudo
apt-get install cdrskin), and link the cdrskin binary
against cdrecord (temporary), and try burning. Please let me know the result.

This bug is still in Feisty! I wasted 4 CDs until I realized that it was
burning it as an audio CD.

the original unprotected one using the desktop right-click option are
generally unreadable and unplayable. (at least in Ubuntu Edgy)

I tried both. First i tried duplicating it with "right click" -> "copy
disc" (which resulted in a unplayable cd). And after that for testing
purpose i created an image by right clicking on the Audio CD Icon ->
"copy disc" and than selecting "copy disc to: file image" (resulting in
an invalid image
Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? What do you
mean by "When using the "copy disc" tool to write the data to an image",
do you try to duplicate a CD by right click on it and using the copy
option or to write datas to an image?
