What youz can try is to do a metacity --replace On my computer the combination of libreoffice and a compositing window manager seems to cause all kind of trouble. But don't ask me why. Tried turning on and off all compiz plugins but it seems that as soon as opengl is enabled I get strange

It happens also to me: uname -a Linux craven 2.6.38-10-generic #46-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 28 15:07:17 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I'm using libreOffice 3.4.1-103 (installed from deb downloaded from the website) and compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110606-0ubuntu1~natty2 I upgraded to the latest
