OpenOffice.org Contour
I'll be happy to submit a crash report as soon as I can get more
guidance on this. Searching blindly for crash reports is a fool's
errand.
Meanwhile, I've upped the status, in hopes of getting a response. Crash
report or not, it's still a nasty crash, and probably a valid bug.

There is no /var/crash/ directory. There is no /var/log/crash/. There
is no *.crash file on the computer. Any other ideas?

I'm not surprised. Crashes are often capricious. I can't even
reproduce this on other computers, although this one otherwise seems to
be in perfect order. Is there a log or something I can post?

instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.
If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.
Now
Apparently it does not work with all image files. A file created and
cropped by SimpleScan seems to cause failure. File attached.
I'm a little reluctant run the commands to try it yet with LibreOffice. Does
the command
apt-get -y upgrade
also upgrade the OS to Natty? I'm not quite ready to
VanillaMozilla, this is unreproducible in LibreOffice Writer.

better. Could you please attach the .jpg that when inserted, produces
this problem? Does this issue occur for you in LibreOffice Writer?
