The glib2.0 version 2.29.6-0ubuntu1 is still broken in my setup.
I am using LightDM and it seems not to work with this new glib2.0.

It seems, at least in my case, that the problem depends on whether I
run GDM or LightDM but also if I use autologin or not.
In my previous comment I ran LightDM and manual login.
After some tests between GDM/LightDM and auto/manual login it seems that
autologin works better for both DMs concerni

Running the System preferences > Network in the terminal:
$ gnome-control-center network

Do not know if related but in terminal I used to be able to scroll
through previous commands with the arrow up and down. Now it gives me a
screen shot dialog box. I found this while using Ubuntu Oneiric 11.10 32
bit and 64 bit.

I have went back to glib2.0 (2.28.8-0ubuntu1) on i386 until this is
resolved. I could not find a working x64 build so had to go back to
glib2.0 (2.28.6-0ubuntu1)

Confirming this issue. I downgraded to the previous working version
2.28.6.
It seems this new 2.29.4 version of glib2.0 is not compatible with the
package glib-networking_2.28.7-1 and libsoup2.4-1_2.34.2-1.

This bug still exists in glib2.0 version 2.29.6-0ubuntu1 and causes
freezing at logout, reboot and shutdown. Furthermore, no network access,
neither wired nor wireless works. Downgrade to version 2.28.6-0ubuntu1
is a workaround.
There seems to be a misconfiguration in the package creating an /etc/
I am not seeing this on my AMD64 sys . updated to
libglib-2.29.6-0ubuntu1 my wired and wireless bot working and terminal
scrollback also working .
