today updated system with new alsa kernel modules from ppa and fixed .
im closing this bug now.

tested daily build on -9 and -10 aside from symbols errors in dmesg nothing
changed in aplay -L

Also, can you reproduce the symptom using 2.6.38-9-generic and the latest
