Indeed, upstream's default icon settings use Rodent, which is an old non
xdg complient icon theme for Xfce 4.4. You can manually change it in
Settings > Settings Manager > Appearance.

Statu
The worst is I am assuming the version 4. If I choose the session only
listed as xubuntu, it is perfectly fine, with no problems what so ever.
It only occurs in xfce session as listed at the beginning. Sorry I
can't be more specific.
