Happened me this crash in My Ubuntu 12.04.2 based installation. My system is
full uptodate unfortunately.
Only difference to I using latest Espeak testing release.

Jean-Baptiste, thanks for your bugreport. Could you please attach 2 log
files from your ~/.speech-dispatcher/log directory: speech-
dispatcher.log and espeak.log? They can contain the text that was spoken
to you which could contain private information, but if you are OK
sending the files, it could
speech-dispatcher.log
espeak.log is empty (0 byte)
And also the content of festival.log from the time of the crash:
$ cat festival.log
festival_client: connect to server failed
The debug/ subdirectory is empty.
