Thanks for pointing that out. I tried it, and it led me to discover the
real cause of my problem. Vim-addon-manager expects a "registry" file,
whose location can be specified with "-r". If I use that parameter to
point towards the YAML registry file, then my plugin is discoverable.

addons' supports a '-s' parameter for a source addon directory -- which
will cause 'vim-addons' to only look at the directory passed (or, if you
pass multiple '-s', the last one).
