Lumeng Lim, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from
I forgot to confirm that it was fixed (a long time ago) by a kernel
update.
I'm really grateful for the fix; it makes my life a lot easier!

Hi
I have the same g470 device and many issues
I tested the sdcard on debian using linux-kernel 3 and same issue :
Linux version 3.0.0-1-amd64 (Debian 3.0.0-3) (b...@decadent.org.uk) (gcc
version 4.5.3 (Debian 4.5.3-8) ) #1 SMP Sat Aug 27 16:21:11 UTC 2011
I fear this is related to BIOS
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 0bda:0139 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
This device is claimed by the 'rts5139' driver, included in Oneiric's
current kernel (upstream has queued it up for the 3.2 release).

I'm a photographer and would really like this to work! I can't be
cranking-up windows every time I need to transfer photos.
I have tried this in both 32- and 64-bit Natty. Not working.
Is there anything I can do/provide to help this get fixed?
