Sigh, why don't you just read my explanation instead of insisting? PCM oubviously controls *both* because that's the input they get. LFE controls the LFE channel. Master controls the 2 other speakers, it *should* also control the LFE channel but this is not the case and that's an alsa issue. Ther

All of those "requirements" are useless, as I told, the LFE (subwoofer) of the Dell 9400 is not recognized by the kernel unless that patch is applied against 2.6.20-5. Are you actually human or just some script grepping for some output? Anyway, I'll try to get it fixed upstream then. Too bad the
