unmounting. The problem is that in some cases the pop up you mentioned
appears _at once_ after the copy started. I.e. copy process is finished
immediately. Then, I can click "Eject the media" button, the media will
be unmounted succe
Right, when ejecting the drive the device notifier in your panel pops up
and indicates business. At this point it actually flushes the cache to
disk. Only once it tells you that you can remove the disk now all data
is flushed and on the disk. If you remove it before then data loss is
unavoidable.

Same for me, something is really broken and dangerous here in Kubuntu.
Some times the tray for the copy-task is done in one second, even when copying
hundreds of megabytes!
I have to check with"watch -n1 sudo iostat -m" when the writing has finished.
Then, to avoid corruption i always have to exe
