Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pavuk
Ubuntu 6.06.1, i386 $ pavuk --version pavuk 0.9.33 2005-11-15T15:52 Pavuk GUI is too large to fit to 1024x800 screen resolution (GNOME with standart Ubuntu layout). To demonstrate problem, switch your desktop resolution to 1024x800. I beleive it is the minimum recomended resolution for Linux desktop; BTW Windows can run fine at 800x600... Start Pavuk GUI: $ pavuk -X Now, press "Config" button, you should receive configurtion dialog with many options. And you see a problem, OK/CANCEL, etc buttons are not visible as these are hidden under bottom Ubuntu toolbar. This configuration dialog is too big and there is no easy way how to fit it to screen with resolution 1024x800. I don't know how to fix this: - smaller font - smaller forms - change design of the dialog, make it wider - redesign dialog, add tabs or hide some options to special screens - add some scrool feature to GNOME, to be able to scroll/move dialog up to reach buttons at the dialog bottom Similar problem I met with VideoLanClient (VLC). Too many configuartion options in some dialogs cannot fit too the screen. ** Affects: pavuk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- pavuk GUI is space hungry https://launchpad.net/bugs/80304 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
