I tried to reproduce this issue with banshee 2.1 but I am unabled to
reproduce it, seems like is already fixed in this release, by the way,
this issue looks very similar to bug 803928. Please can you try to
reproduce this issue using banshee 2.1 from ppa archive and then check
if this problem
I added the ppa ppa:banshee-team/banshee-daily to my system. Now I have
Banshee 2.1.1 and the bug is still there. Since you say that you can't
replicate the bug, what is your screen resolution? I tried this on three
different monitors (and two different computers) with different
resolutions :

Your monitor is probably too big. Like I said, on my monitor with a
resolution of 1680x1050 (21 inches), I could not make the bug happen,
but on a smaller screen (resolution : 1366x768 - 15 inches or ) it
happens every time. To make the bug happen, you have to be able to bring
the play bar close
