This is a very nasty bug. Common the release exists since 2009.
For all who want to use the latest version get the archive at
http://craz.net/programs/itunes/alac.html
1. Unzip
2. cd to folder
3. make
After that you can run the decoder via ./alac-decoder

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
