I can't reproduce this in gutsy beta (OOo 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu2). I've tried
it from writer, calc, impress and base, i've tried searching for over a
dozen different terms within both index and find. Unless anyone has any
objections, I'm changing the status to Fix released.

I confirm it on feisty and on gutsy. The problem is related to the
ubuntu packages, not on the "vanilla" OpenOffice packages.

Same bug observed running OOo 2.2.0-1ubuntu3 on feisty (hangs when
searching help for impress)
Console messages when launching "soffice" (OOo hangs at "***glibc" line)
follow (full versions of two crashes attached):
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ soffice
find: /home/hugo/.mozilla/firefox/lbckihsj.default/
I can confirm this bug with feisty final and openoffice 2.2.0 (up to
date).
I could reproduce this bug with the following steps:
- start openoffice impress
- open help
- klick search tab
- enter some search-text
- klick search button
=> all openoffice windows disappear
- recovery will start on nex
I was able to reproduce this with 2.2.0-0ubuntu2
