I firstly installed 8.04 from live CD where it also did not work (lsusb on live
CD with the same result). Then I found this article and upgraded to 8.10 alpha
using Synaptic.

This is really strange! I suppose it is working in windows. Some times
it takes a modprobe to get it working, but you seem to have tried that
allready. But if you haven't try sudo modprobe zd1211rw in a terminal.

Result of lsusb after sudo modprobe zd1211rw is still the same.
I'm not sure about the status in windows, because it is a laptop of my friend
who asked me to install linux there and I've received it without OS.
Nevertheless she told me that it worked.
I hope there is no hardware switch to turn

I've tried 8.10 alpha, but wireless is still not working.
Output of lsusb is:

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Should I see the wireless
That is weird as it has been working since Hardy on my asus A9RP at
least. Is this on a live build cd?
