Can someone see if this happens in newer versions of kernel. The wifi is
too slow. I suspect the kernel has not supported correcly the wifi
device.

I don't know: the bug is against _exactly_ the version linux-
image-2.6.38-8-generic of the package linux-image. The bug is alive: if
you upgrade to this version and no update to next version, you have a
bug.
