Public bug reported:
On my laptop, an Asus K50ij laptop, I did a full system upgrade to
oneiric by method of replacing word natty with oneiric in the
sources.list, and both attempts, when I got to the login screen, I found
my mouse and keyboard unusable. I was able to plug in a USB mouse, but
was unable to proceed because the keyboard was unusable.
